Friday, September 3rd -- Day Five

Period One: ELA 9
After some silent reading, students work was checked to ensure assigned work was done. From this point on, we shared some of our topic sentences to see that they were effective and catchy. We then looked at the remaining four steps in The Writing Process and explained what was done at each step.

Period Two/Three: ELA 20
The first period was given to work on our writing assignment. In the second period, homework assignment based on Fulghum's poem "Credo" were collected and discussed. a good class discussion ensued as to the merit/credit of Fulghum's beliefs

Period Four: History 30
After a Current Events discussion, we reviewed the similarities and differences between First Nations and European decision making processes through a Venn Diagram. Assigned work based on which system each individual would prefer to live in and why was collected. We then looked at relationships with the land and the way(s) the land effects us on a day to day basis. We looked more closely at the First Nations view of the land and the belief that no part of nature is better than another.

Period Five: Math 7
Assignments that were given yesterday were collected and a second, more challenging assignment was given.

Period Six: ELA 10
After a few minutes of reading, students started their work on "The Legend of..." assignment. This is not due on Tuesday as time will be given to complete it.

Period Seven: Math 7
Time was given to complete the assignment given earlier in the day. If completed early, students were to hand it in and enjoy the remainder of the class as free time.
