The day started with the annual presentation of Honour Pins and Awards. Thanks as always to the Norquay Co - op for supplying the medals and pins. Congratulations to all of those awarded a pin or plaque.
Period One: ELA 9
After returning from the presenations in the gym, we had just enough time to complete the Computation and Estimation section of the CAT - 4 exam left; only two sections left to go.
Period Three: ELA 20
We used this to start our History exam in the event that more than one period was needed to complete the exam.
Period Four: ELA 10
We started with some silent reading followed by discussion on the questions related to Chapter One of "The Chrysalids". Students were then given time to continue with the remainder of the questions on the handout.
Period Five: History 20
The Unit One Mid Term exam was completed in this period.
Period Six: ELA 10
Students were given the period to complete Chapter Two activities based on the novel 'The Chrysalids'. All of the questions and the extension are due for tomorrow.
Period Seven: Math 7
We started by reviewing the parts of an algebraic expression; the numerical coefficient, the variable and the constant. We then demonstrated how these terms can be used to determine whether we are being asked to add, subtract, multiply, divide or a combination of the two. Six sample equations were solved on the board and then the students were let loose to tackle some algebra on their own. For tomorrow they are to complete p.18 & 19, #3, 5, 6a & 8.
