Period One: ELA 9
Following some silent reading, we corrected the Language Power assignment from yesterday. The "I Am..." poems were then returned; a good job by all on this assignment. Students were to have read the short story entitled "Borders" by Thomas King. Students were to complete Questions 1, a, b and Write a decsriptive paragraph of Latetia's mother. These assignments are due for Monday.
Period Three: ELA 20
Students were given an assignment based on Chapters Nine and Ten of 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. These assignments are to be done for Monday, as well as have read to the conclusion of Part One of the novel which is to the end of Chapter Eleven.
Period Four: ELA 10
Students were given the period to read ahead in 'The Chrysalids.
Period Five: History 20
Following a Current Events discussion we reviewed the concepts of 'total war' and 'attrition'. We then continued on with our look at the trenches with an illustrated side view of the trenches. We then investigated some of the issues associated with life in the trenches, namely trench foot, rats and lice. A handout is available at my Homework Wiki.
Period Six: ELA 1o
Students were given an assignment based on Chapters Six and Seven of 'The Chrysalids'. This assignment is due for Tuesday.
Period Seven: Math 7
We started by collecting all assignment yet to be handed in. Students were given the remainder of the time to complete the assignment on P. 33/34 which is due for Monday.
OTHER NEWS:
Good luck to the Senior Girls Volleyball team who will be participating at a tournament in Canora this weekend. The Junior Boys are also on the road to Kamsack for a tournament at K.C.I.
The second collection day for magazines is coming up on Tuesday, October 19th. After this week, our magazine sales sit at close to $4500.00. Well done!!
Monday is Bus Driver Appreciation Day; be sure to thank these individuals for the work they do not only Monday, but everyday.
Last but not least Good Luck to Tyrell Newcombe adn Edward Altman who will be attending Cross Country Provincials at Regina tomorrow.
