Period Three: ELA 20
The day started with a discussion on the students ideas/beliefs on the topic of success and how it is achieved/ This led to the reading of Tennessee Williams' essay "The Catastrophe of Success". Students were asked to read this for tomorrow which will lead to a discussion of his thoughts/opinions on this matter.

Period Four: History 20
A review of last days content, the loss of mobility and the onset of stalemate was discussed. This led to further discussion and introduction on the 'race to the sea' which led to a series of trenches stretching from the English Channel to the Swiss border. Students were then shown a series of images of life in the trenches and asked to think about what this life might be like. They were to express their opinoins/beliefs in a journal format as if they are a soldier in the trenches along the Western Front in 1914. This is not due for tomorrow.

Magazine sales information went out today. There are a lot of great prizes and incentives this year as we seek to sell $14, 000 worth of magazines.

The Grade Twelve's continue to sell Mom's Pantry as a Grad fundraiser. Time is running out so if you are interested, see a Grade Twelve student.

Lastly, I don't want to see any sad, long faces tomorrow amongst our Calgary Flames fans. They are going to lose to Edmonton all year long so rather than be saddened by this event, get used to it...

Have a great night,
