Monday, November 22nd -- Day Three

Welcome to a new week...Grey Cup week which is a great week to be a Rider fan.

Period One: ELA 9
After some silent reading, we discussed Ken Dryden's essay entitled "The Game" from last week. In particular we were seeking to uncover Dryden's message. Once that was done, students were asked to complete the second of two extensions based on Chapter Four of 'The Outsiders' as well as read Chapter 5 for tomorrow.

Period Three: ELA 20
We continued to watch 'To Kill a Mockingbird'

After some silent reading, we discussed Christy Brown's essay 'My Left Foot' as well as collected the assignment based on that reading. We also looked briefly at all of the literature we studied under the theme of 'The Unknown' in preparation for the unit exam on Thursday. Lastly students were given a handout which outlined a major assignment they will be working on known as 'My Great Adventure'

Period Five: History 20
After a Current Events discussion we reviewed the material from last week; mainly Karl Marx's theory on Communism. We then moved on to discuss the Revolutions of 1917 as well as the Russian Civil War which was a battle for power between the white and the red.
