Thursday, November 4th -- Day Five

Period One - -ELA 9
After some silent reading, we discussed the journal entry they were assigned yesterday. This assignment was to concentrate on gangs; what they are and a look at the pro's and con's of being involved in a gang. This led to the assigning of the short story "On the Sidewalk Bleeding". This story needs to be read as well as question 1 a,b,c & d done for tomorrow.

Period Two/Three: ELA 20
The first of these periods was spent in the lab where students were to type up either their Remembrance Day essay or, if done, their autobiography.
Period Three saw a discussion on Chapter's 15 & 16 of "To Kill a Mockingbird" and then a continuation of our study of the novel.

Period Four: History 30
We started the class with a review/outline for the Unit One exam which is scheduled for Tuesday, November 9th. When this was completed students were given the option to work on either their propoganda or study for the exam. Unit Two will commence tomorrow but the cutoff for the material on the exam ends with Lord Durham and his recommendations for Upper and Lower Canada.

Period Five: Math 7
As a group corrected the assignment on Page 44, 45 & 46 that was due for tomorrow. Students were then made aware of the fact that the Unit One exam will be Monday, November 8th.

Period Six: ELA 10
Students read quietly for the first ten minutes at which point they were introduced to the culminating assignment for 'The Chrysalids' which is a time capsule. A handout dealing with the specifics that this assignment should include will be provided tomorrow.

Period Seven: Math 7
In advance of the Unit exam on Monday, students were struggling with solving simple equations. As such, we reviewed all four potential equation types you could come across and then assigned sixteen questions that deals with solving equations of all types.
