Period One: ELA 10
After some silent reading, students were given the period to complete a series of questions and extending activites on Chapter's 11 & 12 of "The Chrysalids".
Period Two: History 20
We reviewed the specifics of the Battle of the Somme that was discussed last week. We then took a look at some of the ways in which the war effected the civilian populations in both Germany and Britain. Students were given the last fifteen minutes to work on their propoganda assignment.
Period Three/Four: ELA 9
After some silent reading, we moved on to discuss "The Four Voices" which was a series of poems the students had read and responded to in groups on Friday. After a very good discussion we moved onto Robert Frost's poem "The Road not Taken" which was followed by another great discussion about the message Frost was trying to get across to the readers and its relation to our study of finding ourself and our identity. Language Power #21 & 22 were also assigned for tomorrow.
Period Five: ELA 20
As we need to speed up our coverage of the novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" students were given the period to read ahead.
Period Six: History 30
Students are working on their propoganda assignment as they think might appear in the troubled 1830's in one of either Upper or Lower Canada.
Period Seven: ELA 20
An assignment based on Chapters 12, 13 & 14 of "To Kill a Mockingbird" was given out. It should be done for tomorrow.
